Dr. Alexis Kentros

Dr. Alexis Kentros is a Birmingham, Alabama native. She earned her undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa before receiving her medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. She then completed her residency in urology at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Dr. Kentros is extensively trained in robotic and minimally invasive surgery, with clinical interests in kidney cancer, prostate cancer, and urinary tract reconstruction. She performs robotic partial and radical nephrectomy for the treatment of kidney cancer, as well as robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer.

In addition to urologic oncology, Dr. Kentros enjoys maintaining a broad general urology practice. Her areas of expertise include the medical and surgical management of overactive bladder, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), kidney stones, ureteral stricture disease, urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and Peyronie’s disease.

Dr. Kentros provides comprehensive urologic care for both men and women, combining advanced surgical techniques with an individualized approach to each patient’s needs.
