UCA Implementing New Electronic Medical Records System

UCA Implementing New Electronic Medical Records System

To our valued patients:

Urology Centers of Alabama is transitioning to a new EMR (Electronic Medical Record) management system that will better serve both our practice and patient’s needs. We are excited to offer our patients this new, easy-to-use system with safe access to personal health records, communication with your provider, insurance and billing information.

“As part of our mission to provide state-of the-art, patient centered urologic care, UCA is proud to announce it will be in partnership with Allscripts to launch a new Electronic Health Record on August 2, 2021. This new electronic medical record software was designed, configured and tailored to address our specific workflows of urologic care,” said Dr. Michael Bivins, President, Urology Centers of Alabama. “Our collaboration with Allscripts will help us to redefine clinical standards of excellence and will improve urological patient care within our practice.”

During the first few weeks, you may experience delays during appointments, while scheduling an appointment or while communicating with our billing office. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. “In order to fulfill two of our main core values, communication and timeliness, we want to set appropriate expectations with patients regarding this transition. We have spent countless hours training and preparing for “Go Live” week in order to minimize the overall impact on our patients. Our providers have reduced schedules, and we have additional resources on staff to assist our team members. Please have patience with our team if you experience longer than normal delays at your visit,” said Jason Biddy, CEO, Urology Centers of Alabama.

Please note that our current patient portal online will be accessible during this process, but you will not be able to message our office via the portal system. Once the implementation is complete, our new patient portal login will be live in the same location on our website where you log in to the patient portal now. In the meantime, we ask that you call the office with any questions, concerns or issues that you may have.

Soon you’ll be experiencing the positive changes of our new EMR with us – and we look so forward to that!

We understand longer wait times are an inconvenience and value the time of our patients. If you would like to reschedule your appointment to another week, please call 205-930-0920.
